Timber Frame Barn and Loafing Shed

Blend of Old and New

Working with timber framing is satisfying in an old school sort of way—the process boils down to wood and metal, very few synthetic materials, and traditional tools. In other words, all of time tested building practices that make construction a form of art and craftsmanship.

This project also made use of historic materials, like old warehouse windows and 1930s rafters from Denver (the latter was turned into siding). Yet custom-built barn doors and metal siding give the finished bar a contemporary feel—as beautiful as it is practical.
